Legality of E-Signatures

Electronic signatures are legally binding and in some cases better than traditional signatures.

TurboSignature's technology meets and exceeds the standards by law. The following acts and directives were used as a reference point for the development of TurboSignature:

• Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act (ESIGN)
• Uniform Electronic Transactions Act (UETA)
• European Directive (1999/93/EC)

On June 30, 2000, President Bill Clinton electronically signed into effect the ESIGN Act. With the passage of this bill electronic signatures and online contracts were granted indisputable legal acceptance. The overall intent of the ESIGN Act is clearly stated in the first section, that a contract or signature "may not be denied legal effect, validity, or enforceability solely because it is in electronic form". This statement confirms that electronic signatures have the same legal standing and authenticity as their pen-and-paper equivalents.

Intent to Sign

Distinctive Signature

An electronic signature can be a sound, symbol, or process that is executed or adopted by the person with intent to sign the record. TurboSignature offers a variety of signing methods which all constitute an electronic signature. The signature can be biometric, typed, or handwritten to electronically sign documents.

Unalterable Records

TurboSignature makes it easy to prove that records were not in any way altered. Once a record is created an extensive tamper-proof history is maintained. At any time either party can view the document as it appeared on the date it was signed. The extensive security and protection process makes it impossible for records to be altered. Each document's integrity is verified through a unique SHA256 hash.

Court-Admissible Forensic Report

TurboSignature provides a detailed forensic report for each document. The forensic report contains all pertinent information such as time stamps, authentication, and other critical information. TurboSignature provides the appropriate legal foundation needed to enforce an agreement.
